Terms of Service

The service

Milo is a personal assistant for your calendar, email, tasks, contacts, connected accounts, and related plans. It is not a general chatbot. Some requests that are unrelated to that purpose are refused.

Features include chat, tasks, memories stored on your device, Google and Microsoft integrations, an optional Daily Brief, and optional notifications. The product may change, break, or be unavailable.

Your account

You must sign in with Google. Signing in does not by itself grant Milo access to Gmail or Google Calendar; those permissions are requested only if you choose to connect Google. You are responsible for that Google account and for activity under your Milo session. You must be old enough to use the service where you live. Milo is not intended for children under 13.

Access may be limited (for example during a beta). You may stop using Milo at any time.

Connected accounts and actions

If you connect Google or Microsoft, you authorize Milo to access calendar and email within the permissions shown at consent time. Google connections can read and write calendar events and can read Gmail and create or send drafts. Microsoft connections can read calendar and mail only.

The assistant can take actions on your behalf. Creating, changing, or deleting a Google Calendar event, sending email from a Gmail draft, and deleting a task require you to confirm in the interface. Creating or updating tasks, creating drafts, and writing memories can happen without that extra confirmation.

You are responsible for what is sent, created, changed, or deleted after you confirm an action, and for instructions you give in chat. Review actions that require approval before confirming them.

Your content

You retain rights to your messages, memories, tasks, and connected account data. You grant us permission to process that content as needed to provide Milo, including sending it to service providers described in the Privacy Policy.

Chat and memories are stored on your device. They are sent to Milo when you use the assistant. Do not rely on Milo as a backup. Clearing site or app data can erase local chat and memories.

Acceptable use

Do not use Milo for unlawful purposes; to access accounts you are not authorized to use; to send spam or deceptive messages; to attack, disrupt, probe, reverse engineer, or circumvent security controls of Milo or connected services; or to misuse third-party services (including Google, Microsoft, and the AI model provider) in ways that violate their terms.

Third-party services

Authentication, hosting, AI model inference, calendar and email integrations, and notification delivery are provided in part by third parties. Their outages, rate limits, and policies can affect Milo. Those services have their own terms.

No warranty

Milo is provided as is. The assistant may misunderstand information. Responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. Milo may propose an action you did not intend. We do not warrant that the service is uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the people and entities that operate Milo are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-data damages, or for lost profits, arising from your use of the service. If a court finds that limitation unenforceable in part, liability is limited to the amount you paid us for Milo in the three months before the claim (currently, use is not sold as a paid subscription in the product).

Termination

You may stop using Milo at any time, including by deleting your account in Settings. Milo may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to prevent abuse, protect users or services, or address violations of these Terms.

Changes

We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page. Continued use after the “Last updated” date means you accept the new terms.
